Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin has met with Turkish President Abdullah Gül during the events of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TÜRKPA) held in Ankara, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Majilis’ press-service. During the meeting Abdullah Gül spoke highly about Kazakhstan’s success stressing the importance of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiative for the whole Turkic world. Exchanging opinions on a broad range of subjects of Kazakhstan-Turkish cooperation the speakers paid special attention to unity in actions of the Turkic-speaking countries. The Speaker of the lower chamber of Kazakhstan parliament stressed that the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries brings the Turkic peoples to a new level of strategic partnership. “Common efforts of the parliamentarians within TÜRKPA will not only help save the cultural heritage of the Turkic civilization but will also facilitate further enhancement of the role of Turkic-speaking countries in the modern world,” Nigmatulin said.
